Fast forward to the year 2050. The US of A is successful in the creation of US of E (United States of Eurasia). Sorry but USB (Universal Serial Bus), USC (University of Southern California), and USD (the almighty US Dollar) were already taken.
Initiated by the original colonies of Israel, now joined by Iraq and soon to be followed by Iran, the USE will expand to include Saudi Arabia and the other oil-rich Arab states, Kurdistan, as well as the European Union. Of course Turkey will be an automatic member irregardless of its membership to the EU, since Istanbul, the city that sits on two continents and thereby embodies the true definition of Eurasia, will become the capital of USE, and a sister city to Washington, DC.
Naturally this will allow the USA to use USE for its advantage. All the more serious consequences or implications aside, at least for one arena, membership will have its priviledges. Here in the United States of America, our national pastime of baseball incorporates professional teams from the USA (and some from Canada) that compete against each other to be named the 'World Champion.' Come to think of it, this is also true of the NBA, the NFL, etc. As a result of the creation of the USE and intra-league play, the title of World Champion might have more of an acceptance by the world.
We might even have a woman president in the United States finally, probably from the USE. Far fetched? What do you think?
