If you attack a neighboring country (even if it harbors terrorists,) the neighboring country's citizens will easily justify their anger toward the attacker. And even accuse Israel of displaying its true colors of self-offense. Is Israel totally guilty? Is Lebanon totally innocent? Are the Palestinians simply victims? In my opinion, the answer is 'no' in all three cases. However, I believe there's a 'hidden' agenda behind all this recent activity.
'Putin: Israel After More Than Just Return of Captured Soldiers.'
The world is going through a transformation of rising polarization and the emergence of overt confrontation of the 'haves' and the 'have-nots.' It is no longer just a 'materialistic' separation of the classes, but a 'philosophical' and an 'ideological' warfare between the 'West' as perceived by Muslims and 'Islam' as perceived by the West. Neither's opinion of the other is totally valid or completely true, but the persuasive and erroneous public relations campaign by both sides is gaining converts by way of such misinformation.
The 'stereotypical' Muslims of Islam (The 'Islam' as perceived by the West or portrayed by the mainstream media) are getting provoked, and left with no choice but to align themselves, right or wrong, with their brethren. This is causing the countries (like Turkey - mostly Muslim on the one hand, and secular and for the most part open-minded and fair on the other) normally with 'warm' relations with those of other beliefs, philosophies, and political affiliations, including the Jews and the state of Israel, to re-evaluate, rekindle, and 'test' their 'nationalistic' allegiances, as well as realize the discovery of their true 'identity-theft' committed by those they previously entrusted.
This is all too dangerous for everyone involved; and this includes all of us global citizens, people! In the long run, this spells Armageddon if you are a pessimist, and at best, a sophisticated reorganization of the masses, if you are a realist. Whatever the outcome, the future looks bleak for the short-term and the near-sighted. I too am beginning to lose my patience.
