Before I take the weekend off to await the results of the constitutional ramifications and interpretations of what's going on in Turkish politics, I decided to allow the 'generals,' the protectors of 'secularism,' to have the last word:
"The Turkish armed forces have been monitoring the situation with concern," the military said in a statement posted on its Web site. "It should not be forgotten that the Turkish armed forces is one of the sides in this debate and the absolute defender of secularism."

HOPEFULLY, THE GENERALS ARE NO FOOLS, AND THEY WOULDN'T PUT THEMSELVES IN ANY ANTI-DEMOCRATIC 'SITUATION' BY INSISTING ON TAKING SIDES.
But at the same time, I sure hope I don't get a warning email from the 'main man!' representing the ruling but not governing faction of the Turkish Democracy!
I can't wait for what's next in this comedy of errors!
