What the . . . ? I first became aware of this via Hans. Turkey blocks (censors) Wordpress, and Wordpress blogs can't be accessed???
Can someone tell me WHY? This is not a silly attempt by TypePad to take over the world, is it? Another MAJOR embarrassment for Turkey! That's all I gotta say . . .
Free speech? Democracy? Sore losers? Taboos? Armenian and Kurdish issues swept under the rug? Secularism through threats of Military force? Use Ataturk as a cover up for all evil? Ban headscarves in public places? No deodorant used by people who take showers once a week due to lack of water? Keep on having elections until 'they' get it right? Feelings hurt? Grown men fighting via the media? Shall I go on??? It's a total shame!
Erdogan and Gul are the only hope for Turkey. Turks better unite behind those two progressive 'leaders,' instead of making a lot of noise about nothing. Turkey needs to be completely overhauled. Reforms Galore!
Apparently all is well. Wordpress is up and running in Turkey. OR IS IT? The Turkish court(s) were supposed to shut down one site using Wordpress (blank.wordpress.com) not (wordpress.com). Still so embarrassing for Turkey!
