Today marks the first day of Ramazan (Ramadan) for Muslims. It's also Rosh Hashanah for the Jews. In fact, "this year the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and the Jewish holy month of Tishrei, which begins with Rosh Hashana and ends with the festival of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, coincide."
Happy New Year to my Jewish readers. And good wishes for the Muslims during the month of Ramazan. As for the Christians, you too enjoy the celebratory mood we are all in this entire month, and pray for peace, health, and happiness.
Here's what a peace activist writes:
"The warmongers in all three Abrahamic religions are off the track. The scriptures of all three religions make it clear that the will of the Creator of life is for life to continue, on earth, in peace. All three religions are based on love, charity, kindness, benevolence. Fanatics in all three . . . are acting contrary to the will of the divine, which is that we all live together in peace."
