Back in March, Turkey blocked YouTube for two days. And now Turkey blocks it again because of clips the court deems insulting to leading political figures. Welcome to democracy! Freedom of expression does not seem to be that free in Turkey. In fact, most Turks (closet ones not included) would agree that it should continue to be illegal to insult Ataturk, without realizing that such 'protection' actually leads to more of an attraction by those exempt from such a ban. Enter YouTube and its uploaders of distaste from all around the world. How long do you think this ban will last? Probably not longer than you discovering my blog and reading this post. You never know . . . the Wordpress ban is still on . . .
It's nice for Turkey to finally be in the top five . . . of something . . . but not if there are only five in the race . . .
Get over it Turkey!!!
