Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan storms off the stage when he's allowed only 12 minutes to respond to Israel's Peres' 25 minutes.
To be fair, if you have the time, watch the entire 1 hour and 8 minutes, not just the tidbits I and others are floating around. Not to miss anything out of context.
But the real issue was the criticism of Israel's killing of children recently. Israel, on the other hand, claims that if terrorists are targeting you on a daily basis, it leaves you with no choice but to hit back.
Isn't Turkey being hypocritical as it fights its own war on terror with the PKK, the militant faction of the Kurdish independence movement?
Then again, there's a big difference when it comes to indifference of killing innocent civilians versus killing innocent civilians who happen to be children.
Peres later calls Erdogan on the phone, and apologizes. Erdogan insists the incident was not meant to incite harm to Jews or Israel, but of Israeli politics and double-talk.
I guess the provocateurs who delight in discord would be declared the winners today. They'll have plenty to comment about in the coming days.
